Receipts that you receive as an e-driver from ChargePoint after the end of a "Direct Payment" charging process generally contain two line items.
On the one hand, the costs for the charged energy are listed, called "Charging Costs - Energy delivery".
The other is the cost of other services, referred to as "Charging Costs - Other services".
"Other services" is a broad term, so what costs are being cited here?
"Other services" are actually time-based costs in all cases. Time-based costs are costs for charging processes that are incurred per minute or hour. Such costs exist for pure time-based tariffs (e.g.: 9.00 EUR per hour) or for combined tariffs (energy- and time-based, e.g.: 0.52 EUR per kWh and after 240 minutes additionally 0.12 EUR per minute).
You will find such information in the tariff description after scanning the QR code at the charging station. We ask you to read this information thoroughly to prevent any misunderstandings.
The time component in combined tariffs is also referred to as a "blocking fee". A blocking fee is set by the charging station owner to prevent unnecessary blocking of his charging station. If the electric vehicle remains attached to the charging station beyond a certain point in time, this fee gets charged. In the screenshot above, this would be the case after four hours, where an additional fee of EUR 0.12 gross per minute is then due.
We would like you to note at this point that in this case, ChargePoint only acts as the issuer of the receipt. The rates at the charging stations are set by the charging station owners themselves, whereby they are free to resort to blocking fees. |
