SIM card configuration

This article describes the necessary configuration settings to connect a charging station with be.ENERGISED.

Configuration

Most charging stations are web based, meaning you can configure your station from your desktop. Simply open a web browser and in the address bar type in your charging station IP address e.g. 192.07.0.0. Further information on this can be found in the user manual of the charging station.

Please note that these configuration instructions only work for ChargePoint SIM cards. If you have a SIM card from another provider, please use their configuration settings.

Please note, depending on what type of station/hardware you have it may be necessary to adapt the endpoints, e.g. OCPP 1.5 or 1.6, Websocket/JSON. A connection via SOAP is currently only supported via the OCPP Broker. In the long term, however, SOAP will be completely eliminated.

The following settings are relevant for the connection of the charging station:

Network GSM Settings 

First check which type of SIM card you have, some cards begin with 8943 and some begin 8988 or 8935. Each card you receive from ChargePoint is marked with a colored sticker. Then follow the instructions depending on the card: 

Configuration for SIM card (ICCID begins with 8988)

*yellow sticker

• Connection Type: GSM
• GSM APN: wm
• GSM APN Username:
• GSM APN Password:
• GSM SIM PIN: not required
• DNS-Server: 192.168.17.1 (mandatory)

Configuration for SIM card (ICCID begins with 8943)

*blue sticker

Use the following configuration to connect the charging station with SIM cards from ChargePoint:

• Connection Type: GSM
• GSM APN: has.to.be
• GSM APN Username: hastobe
• GSM APN Password: hastobe
• GSM SIM PIN: not required
• DNS-Server: 192.168.17.1 (mandatory)

Configuration for SIM card (ICCID begins with 8935)

*green sticker

Use the following configuration to connect the charging station with SIM cards from ChargePoint:

• Connection Type: GSM
• GSM APN: htb
• GSM APN Username: 
• GSM APN Password:
• GSM SIM PIN: not required
• DNS-Server: 192.168.17.1 (mandatory)

OCPP settings

• Charge point Identity: enter a unique name* (max. 45 characters long)
• Centralsystem address / backend server:

• Description may vary depending on charging station manufacturer
• Please read your manual to find out which OCCP configuration you need (e.g.: JSON or SOAP etc.) Please note, that a connection via SOAP is currently only supported via the OCPP Broker.
