This article describes the basic configurations and requirements of the be.ENERGISED instance to make charging stations accessible for the be.ENERGISED COMMUNITY. be.ENERGISED enables the connection of charging stations for electric vehicles to the be.ENERGISED COMMUNITY and thus allows third parties non-discriminatory access to your charging stations via QR code. The necessary configuration steps to configure your charging stations for the usage with the be.ENERGISED COMMUNITY are described below.
General configuration
Due to the standardization of the charging station data to be transmitted, it is necessary that all charging stations in your instance are configured completely and correctly. Charging stations that do not have all the necessary configuration features are ignored when synchronizing the charging station data with the network and are therefore not available.
In particular, make sure that the following settings have been made correctly at your charging stations to enable access to the be.ENERGISED COMMUNITY:
- configuration of the charge points and EVSE-IDs
- configuration of the basic data including location and geo-coordinates of the charging station
- configuration of the marketing data and the end customer hotline
- configuring the roaming settings of the charging station
- activation of the charging station for use with the be.ENERGISED COMMUNITY
Charge point configuration
To use roaming capabilities in be.ENERGISED it is necessary to set the configuration of the charging stations in a way that only useable charge points for each vehicle are displayed. You must therefore assign the correct plug type, output power and the explicit EVSE ID to each charge point.
To configure the charging connections, navigate to Infrastructure/Charging stations/Station list and open the station data sheet of the charging station there. Now navigate to the tab named Charge points. In this tab, all charging connections identified for the charging station are listed.

Please check here whether the following points have been configured correctly for all connectors (charge points) of the station.
- The designation entered is understandable for the EV-driver
- The connection type of the charge point is correctly defined
- An EVSE ID is assigned to the charge point
- A roaming charge point rate has been assigned
If data in this configuration does not meet your expectations, is incorrect or missing, you can open the configuration menu for the respective charging point by clicking on the pencil icon, as seen above.
In the configuration menu, the charge point is named accordingly and the maximum output power of your connection is selected; this information is then displayed in MobileApps and map services.
In addition, you must assign the individual EVSE ID for each charge point. You find the ID on the QR Code sticker of each charge point! Please note that you can only use EVSE-IDs which are within your range. If you have any questions, please contact our ChargePoint be.ENERGISED support team via the request form. |
Tariff configuration
You have the option of selecting a tariff for charge point. The following tariffs are available for the be.ENERGISED Community: Price overview be.ENERGISED COMMUNITY tariffs
Configuration of basic data
In order to publish the data of the charging station via interfaces, it is necessary to set the location data of the charging station in the system. This information is then automatically transmitted to roaming interfaces and is then available to external charging customers. You can configure the basic data using the station data sheet in the Edit/Basic Information menu.

Please also select a name for this charging station - this will be visible to the EV driver and should include an understandable and descriptive name, and the address of the charging station. Please note that the street name must contain at least 2 characters. If you leave the fields of the geo-coordinates empty, the address data will be automatically determined.
Configuration of the marketing data
ChargePoint requires the transmission of certain fields from the charging station, such as the hotline number of the charging station.
Therefore, make sure that all necessary information has been filled out in the Marketing tab. When using the interfaces, at least the German description must be used. The system supports the possibility of using foreign-language texts and descriptions.

In the dialogue, please enter the contact person of the station on site – these contact details will be displayed as the contact person in navigation systems. It is also necessary to enter the hotline number where EV-drivers can ask for help in operating and using the charging station. Please enter the phone number in the format +49 555 1234567.
The configuration option for visibility in portals is only applicable to the use of roaming interfaces to a limited extent, since the display and distribution of information is regulated by the Intercharge Subscriber Agreement. However, the configurations possible in be.ENERGISED affect the display of the connected partner portals, which collect the data directly via a be.ENERGISED interface.
Finally, configure the accessibility of the charging station and enter a description of the charging station. This information is public and transmitted to navigation systems. Please also enter any accessibility restrictions, such as opening hours etc., here.
Configuration of roaming properties
To finally enable the charging station to use the roaming network, you must enter the necessary configurations on the charging station. This is the configuration of access parameters and properties that have been standardized by be.ENERGISED to cover compatibility with all roaming systems.
Navigate to the Roaming/General Settings tab and configure the parameters that your charging station has here.
Please go through the displayed list one by one and activate every option that applies to the respective charging station.

Here you have the possibility to provide information about your charging station to roaming partners. Please note that setting these items to YES, with one exception (please see below), has no effect regarding activation at the charging station. These fields are only used for information transfer.
ATTENTION: The exception to this is the "Deactivation of direct payment page" field. If you set this field to YES, it is not possible to charge at your charging station using direct payment via the Direct Payment Page. |
Activation of the charging station
After you have completed the charging station configurations described above, you can unlock this charging station for the usage with the roaming interface. This gives you the option of individually enabling roaming interfaces for each charging station.
Please note that you must activate each charging station individually so that it is displayed in the roaming interfaces. |
You can activate the charging station automatically by clicking on the switch. As soon as the switch changes to green, the charging station data is prepared for distribution to the roaming network. This data is then transmitted to the Intercharge network in a daily automated comparison.

If certain settings have not been made correctly at the time of activation, you will be informed and activation will not be possible.
If you have already activated one or more roaming partners in the "Roaming" tab and if you subsequently delete, for example, the name of the charging station in the basic information and click on "Save changes", you will now be informed that the deleted field is a mandatory field for this particular roaming interface and saving these changes will deactivate the roaming partner.

For more detailed information on which fields are mandatory for which roaming interface, please refer to our article on the be.ENERGISED Monitoring initial setup.
