RFID readers can read the so-called Tag ID of RFID cards in two reading directions (low-to-high or high-to-low). The two reading directions are also referred to as little-endian and big-endian.
In order to enable a correct verification of tag IDs in connection with roaming networks, you must determine which endian coding is used at the charging station. be.ENERGISED is able to deal with big-endian and little-endian; yet big-endian is required to guarantee the connection to roaming systems.
Adjust the Endian-coding of your charging station as follows:
- Search for the charging station in the infrastructure overview (Infrastructure/Charging Stations)
- Open the station data sheet
- Open the menu item Edit/Basic data and set the "RFID reading direction" to the desired configuration.
Please make sure that you use big-endian as the default encoding in be.ENERGISED, which corresponds to the current standard. Otherwise problems with roaming networks will occur. |
In the meantime, the big-endian format has established itself as the "so-called standard" in electric mobility. You should therefore take care that you use data exclusively in big endian in the administration of the identification media. Currently we do not offer any functionality to convert data automatically.
